NO STARLIFT AGAIN?!?

I'm still to hear it. I've listened to the mediums and now my mp3 cd is about to start the large bands. Thankfully my stream remained up and more or less uninterrupted. Oh the beauty of the internet. I digress. Since returning to Trinidad in 2005 after 39 years in England I found Starlift to be stuck in a rut. Full of nostalgia but little else. Don't get me wrong, it's still a musical band but their unwavering devotion to great music has meant they no longer satisfy the modern day panorama judge.Who' lets face it, is musically challenged. Most of them would not recognise chord structure and harmonics if they were smacked around the face with it. Proof of this is Invaders have never won a panorama yet musically they have been near perfect. Where did Despers come when they played Bradley? On the subject of Starlift and Ray 2007 was the last time Ray led Starlift to the finals with "We Just Can't Go On Like This" but that tune was far too sophisticated for small minded judges. They placed joint last with Invaders. probably best if Despers Invaders Starlift Pamberi and the like have their own competition. Strictly for Music Lovers

The last time Starlift made the finals was when Ray did their music, they also won and tie for first place with Ray, they created history as the first steelband to play their own music in ah panorama, composed by that same Ray.If you ask me I would tell the Starlift people to bring back Ray for about three years and I bet you that they will do a lot better.

  to me starlift sounded very good to make the final i dont no why the judges did not think so but i have always enjoyed Gary's music but that's my own opinion which dont count better luck next year
