Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - More than $2 million [USD $310,684] are up for grabs in the Trinidad and Tobago Steelband Music Festival, Pan is Beautiful XII, which is scheduled to run from October 5 to November 16.
There are four categories—soloists, single pan, ensemble and orchestra—and the festival has attracted the largest turnout of participants since the 1980s.
This was revealed yesterday morning in the Festival Ballroom at Capital Plaza, Wrightson Road, Port of Spain, at the official launch of Pan Is Beautiful XII by festival chairman Col Edison Isaac.
Thirty-one soloists, 14 ensemble and 14 orchestras have entered the competition.

Let's hope it is also professionally recorded. I would gladly pay US$100.00 plus for a 3CD or 2DVD product as long as at least 60% went back to the performers and PANTRINBAGO.
Is there a breakdown of the $2,000,000 plus in prize monies, so the participants are already aware of the "spoils?"

I have not been able to acquire anything beyond Pan is Beautiful VI.

Good question. The last video I have is from from 2000. I still want to acquire 1998, 2002, 2004 and 2008.
I was present in 2005 when the festival's venue was at Madison Garden Theatre in NYC, but there were no recordings of CD's or DVD's. Well, to answer your question, I do not think that Pan Trinbago has any of your request. I just returned from a beautiful concert produced by Invaders Steel Orchestra, WOW!
