Pan Trinbago threatens lawsuit over $$ matters

Trinidad Express / PANTRINBAGO has announced its intention to take legal action following claims of serious financial mismanagement made this month by former vice-president, Bryon Serrette, which the organisations said yesterday has impacted its funding ahead of Carnival 2017.

In a media statement and a full page newspaper advertisement, the Pan Trinbago condemned Serrette’s claims that mismanagement had put the historic organisation at risk of shutting down and said the smear on its name was affecting its ability to access funds.

Serrette, who resigned earlier this month resigned, also called on the Pan Trinbago executive to step down with immediate effect.

Serrette’s resignation followed the delivery of an independent audit by PKF Chartered Accountants, which stated that the organisation faced an Accumulated Deficit of $10,485,685 as at 30 June 2016, while liabilities exceeded its current assets and investments by $14,954,960 as at year’s end.

Pan Trinbago subsidiary, International Conference and Panorama, was also noted to have outstanding liabilities totaling $9,081,621, which the Organisation may be liable to pay in the near future.

  • Ah Dont Know Why When People Speak the Truth the Get Demonized. Mr. Serrette Had a Bird's Eye View of The Corruption For Many Years. He Could Not Take it Anymore for Whatever Reason So He Became A Whistle Blower and Expose The Whole Damn Cancer that is Pantrinbago. Fear Not Mr. Serrette.
  • I'm sure Mr Serrette is all lawyered up and waiting, The big question is what's Pantrinbago part in 2017 panorama?

  • You can't sue someone for speaking the truth.

Everyone knows that PT's finances are in disarray and audits have confirmed that so how can you sue someone for simply stating the facts.

    • We are suing because: "All allegations of misappropriation and corruption made by the former vice president [Byron Serrette] who served for over seven years, are malicious, unfounded and unfortunate."

However, I would advise my client (Keith Diaz) that "unfortunate" does not sound like good grounds for a lawsuit.

Sounds like your client has you driving in both direction on a one lane highway. Very few ever survive that kind of concussion. I would strongly recommend that with all the mounting evidence College Boy has at his disposal - now might be the time for Rolly Polly to turn states witness and place the blame on D'Photo. D'Photo was there from the very beginning. Rolly Polly can claim "plausible deniability" like Regan did during the Iran-Contra Gate.

How do you like that for a movie ending?

Do you think you can get Rolly Polly to star in the remake of 2 Legit to Quit??

  • If Byron Serrette is as sophisticated a politician as he indicated he might be with his media merry go round blitz exposing corruption in STEELPAN TRINBAGO, then I would expect him to come out again with a new set of documents (copied or stolen from the office) further exposing KEITH DIAZ in the next few days.

But of course the NEW VISIONARIES stopped exposing and folded like a low percentage poker hand as soon as Keith Diaz threatened them with a lawsuit. Let us see if Byron Serrette really come out to play or if he was just mamaguying with an ACT ONE and the show done.
