State-owned oil company, Petrotrin and popular pan side Phase Two Pan Groove have parted ways, ending a 15-year relationship together.
Petrotrin issued a media statement this afternoon saying that Phase Two Pan Groove has opted to work with another sponsor.
The following is the statement issued by Petrotrin.
"Petrotrin wishes to advise that the sponsorship arrangement between the Company and Phase II Pan Groove has expired and the Band has opted to continue its work with the support of another sponsor.
The successful partnership between Petrotrin and Phase II Pan Groove began in 1999 and the band has flown the Company’s flag with pride for approximately 15 years. During that period, the band has reached the final of every National Panorama Competition, has placed 3rd on three occasions, 2nd on six occasions and has been crowned National Panorama Champions five times; most recently in 2013 and 2014.
Petrotrin and its predecessor companies have long recognized the need to preserve the heritage of our national instrument and as such have been a major contributor to the local pan fraternity.
While the partnership between the Company and Phase II Pan Groove has ended the Company continues its support for the national instrument through the sponsorship of Petrotrin Hatters, Petrotrin Siparia Deltones and Petrotrin Katzenjammers. The Company will also maintain its support for 13 other unsponsored bands.
Petrotrin extends its best wishes to Phase II for continued success."

Phase ll won't end a successful relationship if they did not have something better is the works.
Who allyuh worried about Phase11?? The last time Phase and Petrotrin parted, they went on to win the following Rama only to end up being sponsored by Petrotrin again. Allyuh think Boogsie does worry about sponsor? Phase11 is a household name. They know how much they worth!
there you go any idea who the new sponsor is in the belt tightening and adjustment times?

I agree, Bertel. I doubt getting sponsorship is a major problem for the top bands like the Phase . It's the less successful, lesser known bands that struggle to get assistance and sponsorship.
I hear you loud and clear Cecil but what is better than a State-owned Oil Company another State-owned Company.
earl, what can we say? we just have to hope things work out for the better. Having said that yuh know everything is MONEY driven in the Mecca. lol
Say Whaaat?
PETROTRIN AND PHASE 11 PAN GROVE had a great and successful relationship for the last 15 years, surprise to hear it has ended. I extend best wishes to BOOGSIE AND PHASE 11 for continued success.
