The day after THE ARCHBISHOP OF PAN and the PROPHET OF PAN meet the JUDGE OF PAN there is weeping and gnashing of teeth, ah few middle fingers and some obscene language but as they say the show must go on, so lets see who can pick the first three bands in the finals.
Here is my 3 PHASE 2, FONCLAIRE, EXODUS in that order, what's yours?

My pick is FIRST PLACE - D Phase.....2nd place - All Stars......3rd place - Fonclaire. The upset would be Invaders coming in third instead of Fonclaire. I doubt it though as Fonclaire is sounding magical.

When I see selections like ... Phase II, Silver Stars, Exodus, All Stars...I am reminded of world cup football. People who never so much as kicked a ball in their entire life, cannot outline field positions or cannot tell you the meaning of a referees signal...if you ask them who is their favourite team, invariably you hear BRAZIL. Why? Because of Edson Arantes do Nascimento (Pele) Brazil has become the most famous world cup football team...it matters not if they play the most "faeces" in the world cup, ask anybody who they 'backing'...it's always BRAZIL. It's the same in the panorama...that's why you will always hear...Phase II, Silver Stars, All Stars, Exodus. To me the best playing band in the large band category in the semi finals was Invaders, followed by Fonclaire then Renegades then...although, to me, they played in too slow of a tempo...Desperadoes. Hence my first three choices remain...INVADERS, FONCLAIRE, RENEGADES.

Well Cecil, Panorama is MORE than "large' bands. Some small and medium bands have excellent arrangements. We get carried away with the "Boogsie, Smooth, Pelham and Edwin rama syndrome. Yeah, they bring the butts to the benches but shouldn't it be about "music" and not "money" for PT? Which three do you want? Single, small, medium, large or extra large?
I hear yuh Patrick and agree, but as you know all the interest is in the big bands. I do remember that young arranger Venessa Headley I think she is ready to play with the big boys.
