The proposed PAN/CD is a brilliant idea for moving Pan Music forward both locally and globally. do we need approval or green light from Pantrinbago the governing body for pan, Govt. to produce this show? If pantrinbago is not a part of this production will they have any objections? I cannot see any objections to this production by anyone. PAN is not DEAD lets keep it ALIVE. BLESSINGS.

Earl,
Good questions there.
I don't believe you would need GROTT approval, except for relevant licenses.
PT must be informed,if only to observe basic protocol and courtesies.
In the interim, unofficial questions can be asked about approval/s etc.
Well is now I have questions!!!
PT must be informed if somebody want to put on a PAN SHOW in T&T?
This PANTRINBAGO plot twist came much earlier than I expected.
"PT must be informed,if only to observe basic protocol and courtesies."
Please don't take this for more than it's worth, Bertel would inform us if there is a need for much more than this.Do remember that PT is the Steelbands bargaining body.
I saw the conditional clause; it was not missed in your first response. I chose to leave it out for political reasons. For years I have praised Keith Diaz as being one of the greatest politicians I have ever seen; and for that reason I can predict his every move in relation to this particular PAN SHOW.
I always support every post that Earl Richards puts up but I deliberately did not respond to this one for political reasons. However, that early hint you gave pulled me out of my EVENING OF TRUMPING.
CLAUDE, sorry to interrupt your evening of THRUMPING, that is still politics or politricks as some would say. But seriously this PAN/CD show that EXPATS / LOCALS are excited about is not someone putting on a pan show in the mecca of pan, I think it is BIGGER than that and with a board of directors to plan and get things moving. I am not looking for setbacks or problems later, that is why I asked these questions early. BLESSINGS.
This is just to ensure that Pan Trinbago get a percentage of what ever profit you make, they will love it if others could step-in and make money and they stretch out their hands for their cut just because they BIG. This is REALITY..
Cecil: You put your finger right on the pulse (along with Earl) but this is a double-edged sword. Because if the day ever comes that a bunch of "others" start producing PAN shows in Trinidad (as I hope will happen) at some point they will tell DIAZ that they are not paying taxation without representation. So they want some members of the "others" on the governing body of PAN TRINBAGO in return.
I think the politics surrounding this germinating seed might be poisonous enough to kill it before it could grow ... ah hope allyuh doh treat me like Melania and say that ah teef somebody else lines.
Steelbands depend too much on PanTrinbago hand out to go against them.
earl, I don't think you will hear a word from PanTrinbago because they know to finance a show and CD in T&T is a tall order, they'll just play the wait and see game.
Let's say the show and CD is successful, what does that do to the state of the steelband in the Mecca?
Cecil if the PAN CD show is successful, it cannot hurt the state of the steelbands in the Mecca. It could be the start of a great recorded, engineered production of a top of the line acceptable PAN CD MUSIC that can hold its own locally and globally that we can be proud of. AMEN. BLESSINGS..
