"That the minister was able to get approval for his plan to use prison inmates to tear down the existing structure is a credit to his resourcefulness, as well as to the principle that decisive action is always possible in the midst of stultifying processes in the public administration arena."

Now readers on this forum know that two people have made this suggestion (specific to PAN PRODUCTION) on THIS FORUM: Keith Diaz and Claude Gonzales.

And my plan has been a little more expansive -- and will be more controversial.

This is the most exciting and hopeful article I have read in the TT papers in decades. Because it could be used to reduce crime in a most dramatic way. And provide skills for people who would never have been given a second chance.

But just imagine that you have 2000 to 3000 prisoners working in a MASSIVE PAN FACTORY -- building PANS under professional guidance developing skills (across the board) and supplying PANS to the world.

PAN bringing in enough money to pay for ALL THE OIL we now importing.

Ah hope Minister Sinanan eh tief that idea from ME and KEITH DIAZ and adapt it to DEMOLITION.

What the hell, all ah we is TRINIS!!! As long as they expand the program to PAN PRODUCTION, I good with that. And if they get bold enough to snatch all dem GANG BANGERS off the East West Corridor and put them to work in the PAN FACTORY and crime drop down by 80 percent as a result -- let Minister Sinanan run with the idea!!!

Ah keeping meh fingers crossed!!!

  • Well, Well, Well!!. A very good plan indeed. Could this plan be implemented to include building or finishing the long awaited Pantrinbago headquarters, after all this is important too.
