Members have you ever experience jumping up with your band on  a carnival  day and on seeing another band passing you went and take a chip or a jump with them ?. Well this happened to me, I was jumping up with Highlanders Steel Orchestra on Carnival Monday in the late Sixties coming down Frederick Street and Invaders Steel Orchestra going up the next Street, So I went  and listen to them. I was so impress with the Tonal Quality of their pans especially the Tenors and  their sweet interpretation of the tune they were playing (The Merry Widow Waltz) . I could not  help but follow them for a few blocks jumping up to sweet pan and music before returning to the band I was jumping up with. Have you ever experience this.

  • That used to happen to a lot of people on Jourvert morning in the early 60's when City Symphony played tunes like "The Barber of Serville", "Agnus Dei" Captain by Michigan(deceased) with Spongy on the Double tenor. They used to rock Green Corner. Also Calypoes "Rose" and "Love in the Cemetery".
