Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Before leaving home last Sunday to attend the Sagicor Exocubs’ second annual youth steelpan explosion concert, “RevelaXion 2 — Moods,” at Sagicor Exodus pan orchestra pan yard in St Augustine, I read a newspaper article about a group of “young bandits” who attacked, brutalised and robbed some hapless persons.
Hours into the concert, put on by the youth arm of the Sagicor Exodus Steel Orchestra, I began to feel a renewed sense of hope in the nation’s youth. To put it plainly, while youth delinquency and crimes are headline grabbers, the many good and positive achievements by young people today, go unnoticed by society.
