The passing of Dr. Pat Bishop is a loss to the culture of art and music of Trinidad and Tobago and
the world over. It's a darn shame when we haven't heard one word from Mr. Peters. What a shame since Mr. Peters is the Minister of Cultural Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago. This is a clear view that the PM has no good idea of who she puts in some very key positions in her cabinet. To have such an Icon from our country who has passed on, but yet receive no appreciation for all the good she has done for our culture, arts and music by the so-called leaders of our government is a crying shame.
May God Bless her soul.

Why criticize only Minister Peters? He is a cog in a Government that came to office promising ‘change’. What changes have they made towards cultural contributors and creative artists like Patricia Bishop? In Japan and some other countries artists like Miss Bishop are honoured as National Treasures; they are supported and encouraged to enrich and enhance their society’s culture; when they die they do so as revered and respected cultural legends and icons. During her lifetime Miss Bishop tried to show the way forward. Do you think her untimely passing will alter our politician’s perception of the value of the Arts and Artists to our rich multicultural society? Have you read the conditions under which she died? Think! Use your head!
Believe you me the Hon Winston Peters by himself is not the problem; he is but a temporary pebble amongst a vast sea of entrenched political boulders in T&T. We must as a people learn to think before we talk and certainly before we act! ASW
I had listened to an interview recently by Len Thomas in New York whereby he stated that the steelpan is not respected by many, this is something i,ve always said ,and i do agree with him, steelpan for many is just for the financial gains .
What can I say but thanks for your reply on my comment about. Mr. Winston Peters, I am guessing is your
mouth bigger than mine?. I would never disrespect Mr. Peters in anyway by calling him names my mouth is to small for that. Please give me some facts about Mr. Winston Peters and what he has done since he
became the Minister of Cultural Affairs I'll like to know. I could care less about the PNM or the PP political
party they are all the same to me, they are doing nothing good for the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. I have no idea as to which planet you live on., "Anti-Cultural sycophant.
