Silver Stars celebrate 65 years

Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - PCS Nitrogen Silver Stars Steel Orchestra celebrated its 65^th Anniversary in fine style at its spanking Tragarete Road panyard in Newtown on Saturday night.

The all-inclusive event offered patrons chicken pelau, bbq ribs, drum sticks, mini bake and shark, coo-coo and callaloo, corn soup, geera pork, fruit kebabs, cheesecake and Häagen-dazs ice cream.

....Celebrants of the night, Silver Stars, gave patrons two fine sets of music as well.

Since I don't read papers on a regular basis I didn't know about this celebration. All my life I've been a mas' man and having done that I got involved with SS as a supporter and learn 'bout PAN in a modern context. Its heartrending that Edwin is not in the best of health, but I know he'll go down fighting, still composing and arranging as only he can do it.
