Single Pan Band Preliminary Results: North Region

Trinidad & Tobago - Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force Steel Orchestra and Scrunters Pan Groove both tied for the top spot in the recent Single Pan Band preliminaries for the Northern Region. The two bands and twelve others now join other semi-finalists from all the regions, as they strive to make it to the finals, and ultimately, cop the 2011 Single Pan Band national title. Performing at positions 11 and 27 respectively, Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force Steel Orchestra and Scrunters Pan Groove emerged with 267 points each to secure a place in the National Semi Finals, to be held at the same venue on Saturday 26th February 2011. Also making the cut was the Trinidad & Tobago Fire Services Steel Orchestra. The Morvant-based band secured 257 points. Twenty-eight steel bands were judged on Arrangement (40), General Performance (40), Tone (10) and Rhythm (10), making a total of 100 points. Fourteen of those Single Pan bands will advance to the semi final stage.
