...police pull plug on performance
Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - A scintillating performance from North West Laventille Folk Performers was not enough to save Friday’s Pantastic Friday produced by ten-time National Panorama champion Witco Desperadoes Steel Orchestra from its lacklustre fate.
Desperadoes was on stage before a captive audience eager to hear the band render its much loved arrangement of Super Blue’s Rebecca. However, law enforcement officers did not allow a ten-minute extension at the event held at the Paddock Area at the Grand Stand, Queen’s Park Savannah in Port-of-Spain.
The police pulled the plug on the show a mere ten minutes past 1 am, when it was officially scheduled to end.

Yea and imagine the pan is our national instrument, amazing
A positive event produced by the pride of Laventille and it gets shut down for going ten minutes over. Meanwhile what is happening up the hill? Reminds me of the NYPD busying themselves shutting down bands this past summer in Brooklyn while gunshots ring out two blocks away. Priorities!
I am sure that if it was a foreign artist or band performing,The police would not have done anything to stop them,So why stop Desperadoes.? 95% of the people in T&T don't like Steelband,They also don't like themself.
