Again folks this is simple math... Let's try to take emotionalism, nationalism and what ever other ism you like out of this for the moment. If Santa played this type of math game with Rudolph and the other reindeers, I guarantee you there would be no Christmas presents this year under the tree, because those reindeers would be going on strike tonight, for sure!! And in addition, Santa would have been arrested for being cruel, nasty and setting up a situation that is divisive and threatens the peace of the nation.

If we are to follow Ms. Kamala logic by giving everyone a $2,000,000 first prize equally across the board, Chutney Soca Monarch would receive a 1000% prize increase in 2011 over 2010. Soca Monarch would
receive a 317% increase. Calypso Monarch would receive a 400% increase and the Panorama champions would receive a 200% increase..

Again, it there is a financial crunch, why doesn't Gypsy and government revisit and renegotiate the one-sided oil deals they have with foreign companies that have been simply robbing the people of Trinidad and Tobago deaf, dumb and blind.

And I want to know where is the money for people's band coming from? Gypsy and Trinidad government is saying pan people can't do math. Gypsy + the Minister + the TnT Government = Grinch that stole Christmas.

Yeah Bugs There is no way that you can give the same amount of money to an individual performer as you would give to an organization of over 100 people who have to pay all kinds of overheads throughout the year.We only hear them play at Panorama not realizing that they have to sustain themselves all year....Whose idea was this anyway?
Jeff you hit the nail on the head. There is no advocate for the Trinidad and Tobago panist. Pan Trinbago is at best a weak rep for the steelband organizations, but its purses are controlled by the government. Talk about a conflict of interest. There needs to be player reps, agents, a union, a general association of everything pan. Then maybe then Pan Trinbago can figure out how it fits in and who does it truly represent. There needs to be collective bargaining immediately. Look at what just went down and Pan Trinbago was powerless to do anything about it.
