The majority of people that attend Panorama or anything dealing with Pan where you have to pay is People (Foreigners) that live abroad. A lot of time you ask the Local people about what's going on with Pan they don't know, if you walking down the street the music you hear blasting is Reggae, no Calypso or Soca, something is wrong with that.

  • Bede as the Great Calysonian 'Maestro' once said. Trinidadians don't really know what they want. Most Love other People Cultures while Neglecting Our own. Its Sad. We like to Follow. We are the most Cultural Nation in the World, yet We Let other People's Cultures Dominate Ours. As We grow as a Nation it is Getting Worse. I Guess that's the way we Are. People from abroad including Nationals are Very Starved for the Cultural Food that We so often Push aside. They Come to Eat Our Cultural Food, Like the Taste so that are Happy in Paying More for it. They can also afford it Much More than Our Locals!

    • True story, a Chinese national came to Trinidad some years ago and started a business selling hair extensions and other beauty supplies, in less the three years he open two more stores, the demand for these beauty products have been so great he’s considering opening other stores throughout the country.

This is a country that helped create the template for what was considered a true reflection of women’s beauty across the globe; because of its diversity, we have had several winners in the Miss Universe and Miss World competitions. It’s been said before on this forum before “Dis is Trinidad.” WHY are we surprised?

  • This should be obvious.

Someone who travels all the way to Trinidad to attend a show would be quite willing to pay a price that may a bit high for many locals , even if they should wish to attend.

That doesn't mean that local fans love the culture any less.

This would not be unusual under any similar circumstance.

  • Bede, We have no respect for what we do or have, we promote other peoples music at the expense of out own.

  • Nothing is WRONG WITH THAT!!! The people that live abroad have a "cultural fixation" whereas most of the people (notice I said "most") who stayed in Trinidad and lived in Trinidad PASS THAT STAGE.
