Thousands of Tourists and Expats because of limited vacation time off and other pressing engagements fly into T&T the week before Carnival to go to Panorama, Calypso tents, Parties and play Mas, Those who comes in especially for Panorama ends up missing Med/Large bands Semi Finals where each band puts down a serious explosion of Pan Music in order to advance to the Finals. Some of them would have paid to attend the Semi Finals but it was held a week earlier, That is revenue not earned by the vendors and monies not earned by the gate for Pantrinbago to pay the Pan Players. Yes I know the weekend between Med/large Semi Finals and Finals is taken up by THA Panorama, NATIONAL JUNIOR Panorama and ARIMA Panorama. WST Members have stated their feelings on this situation. Was this a great idea to have a 2 weeks delay between the National Panorama Medium and Large bands Semi Finals and Finals or This is not a fete in here this is MADNESS?

earl I'm incline to believe that the 2 weeks delay between the semis and the finals is solely for bands to make money with the bar and food.

Back in the day, Panorama semis was the Thursday before finals.
What Noah is suggesting is why not have the 2 week break between Prelims and Semis? Let Junior Panorama fill in that gap and Pan Semis be the same Sunday as Junior Panorama.
That gives ALL bands more time to make money with the bar and food.
As it stands, Carnival practically already over for bands like Birdsong, Genesis, Steel Xplosion, Sforzata etc. They not makin any or little $$$ from bar and food sales as they not in semis.
I totally agree, an extra week to make money for the bands that did not make it to the finals is essential for them to make extra money to pay players and cover expenses instead of according to Glenroy having a dead Panorama Pan yard Syndrome a whole two weeks before Panorama Finals and Carnival.
And is not just about making $$$ even though that's important. The whole vibe in the yard, players coming out etc is vital...especially for community based bands.
When these bands out so early and have little to nothing to look forward to, the whole carnival experience for them from a pan experience is significantly diminished. The results done devastating enough. Prolong the panorama vibe and experience a week longer for ALL bands.. .

Who came up with the brilliant idea to remove we the hard working pan pushers and die hard supporters from jumping waving and encouraging our bands to put down a scintillating performance by removing us from the sides of the Grand and North stands where I am sure the Pan players gets a lot of vibes from us to perform at their best, Some of us do not even get a T shirt from our band but we help to load the pans and racks on the trucks or push them to the savannah and people with our T shirts are not even their to help get our band to the Savannah, We then push the band along the drag and upon the stage only to be driven off the stage by a line of police only to stand off stage and watch our bands perform on the big TV. What kind of scene is this THIS IS MADNESS>

Why bother coming to the event just to watch your band perform on a TV screen when you could stay home and do the same thing?
It saddens me to watch old panorama and see an active energetic crowd within actual view of the players, which is missing today.
