Two crackshot players from the same band, one  practice  religiously with his band and the other practice now and then with four different bands because he has to  show up and practice with all four bands, one player gets 1,000.00$ for staying with his band and the other gets 4,000.00$ for playing with four bands.  I am not against Pan players making money for Panorama and carnival but is this the right and fair way to do it or is it abusing the system. YOU TELL ME  As Donald Trump said in one of his presidential debates if you do not want me to use loop holes in business deals then closed them.  I gone. BLESSINGS.

  • I heard of panists playing with more than one band at panorama, and I do not have a problem with that. However, if I had a band, none of my players would have been permitted to play with another entity without consequences. No! not suspension, but deduction from when I pay my players.  How can I pay the panman/woman who committed to one entity, the same as another who missed some of my rehearsals.  As far as Pan TrinBago paying the same individual more than once, I was not aware of that. I thought that freelancers were paid by the respective entities.

    • Ian pan players found a way to hustle their craft in the peak season, this is normal, panorama created this beast.

      • Cecil I think it  is Pantrinbago and not panorama created this beast by not enforcing  the rules and regulations as to how players qualify for their stipend for playing in panorama.

        • earl, I think it's an insult to tell a player he can only perform in one band. panorama is the only time there is that demand for his skill, I have no problem with them making a dollar

          • Well then stop complaning about too many "Small Bands"...it is in the Single pan and Small bands that they makin' dey money...When the categories started 12 years ago there were only 20-something Small Bands...this year there are 60-something...I don't know how many Single Bands competed in 2004 but this year there are 70-odd...The only solution is to kill off the Single Pan competition entirely or begin the judging process earlier...as in the year before since there simply is not enough time to judge so many bands...
Want to bet if there were only category more large bands would eventually emerge? As it stands Small and Single Pan bands provide crackshots with the easy hustle and they won't go away for a long time...Next year expect the tally to be in the 90's...

            • 70+ x 2 delegates each -- how allyuh planning to vote MY PRESIDENT out of office when we control the majority of votes.

            • merrytones, T&T spitting out players by the 100s it only natural that they take advantage of the busy period.  The problem here is not the players but the organizers ability to find a solution. We can't be angry because Pan Peeople found a way to profit from panorama.

              • "The problem here is not the players but the organizers ability to find a solution"....you are so right my brother...That's why we have stop entertaning so-called "crackshots"...what you expect from most "crackshots" and their ability to bring value to a band is not always delivered...so don't believe everything you hear about people playing for multiple bands.... from my experience over the years, the operative and "only" word for them is "hustle"...we have no problem with that per se...but we not into that anymore....if yuh not bringing quality to our band...keep far away from us...
