Andy Narell produces the best recording of the steelpan, anyone producing steelpan music should find out how he does it, I'm sure he'll be glad to assist.
Let the music play [Barry White's Composition] by Desperadoes--arranged by BRADLEY, CLIVE.
How about "is Paris Burning" by Guinness Cavaliers?.
There is no recording that I know of but that one definitely deserves a mention.
Glenroy,
It's on their cd...Guinness Cavaliers Classical Gems Vol. 3
From Rhapsody In Blue (1945 Film) Soundtrack
An All Time Classic...

Going back to the beginning of Pan. Such a great sound of those early pans. Improvising on them like jazz.
So not a particular song, but going back to the roots and use that in the modern pans!
A Combo side recorded the theme from "Sampson and Delilah" in the mid 1960's, and that Is my favourite.
On pan, my favourite is "EXODUS" by PHASE II.
