Black Stalin is another cultural icon I remember from the days of my youth in Marabella, Trinidad, when he was an aspiring calypsonian, and one of the guys.Here, Black Stalin (Dr Leroy Calliste) appeals to the DJ's to "Respect the Steelband on Carnival Day".Kaiso, boi Kaiso!

Hayden, this calypso (and several other conscious calypsos } is found on the 2009 album, Dr Leroy Calliste - The Black Stalin.

This has to be the only calypso ever to feature solos by the tenors, seconds, "grundigs", cellos and bass pans.
All in one calypso!
Amazing.
Outstanding calypso supporting the steelbands of T&T by Dr Calliste.

I've always said that a great calypso is a great pan tune and vice versa, and this one proves it
