  • What purity of tone!!! What virtuosic playing!!! I am so proud of my colleagues who were or became part of this institution.

  • Listening to the classic 1962 version of "Voices of Spring" by that legendary steel-band, Pan Am North Stars..

Still sounds fabulous after all these years, and in spite of all of all the technical improvements in the pan that we have today.

  • gosh!! what memories of my early days of listening to pan. I also had the honor of playing this peice arranged by Bobby Mohammed with Amral Cavaliers.

  • If you really love the art form, pan, you'll love it whether the sound is from a north band, south band or from wherever. You'll just love pan.To be calling one band's music foolishness shows a real lack of musical knowledge and bias and is probably the biggest reason the steelband movement hasn't progressed the way it should have after all these years. This sweet sound is OUR thing, born and bred by US, Trinbagonians. Enjoy.
  • A splendid rendition indeed by Panam North Stars in the 1962 Music Festival and this was their first victory in this competition. 2nd was Invaders playing " Meditation " and 3rd was Metronomes playing " Romance In E " .  It's now been 46 years since that Panorama of 1965 when the Savannah " WENT WILD " with " MELODY MAS " played by Guinness Cavaliers and they romped home UNANIMOUS VICTORS . That victory did not just come on that Final Night, it started since the Prelims where they were the last band to perform and PERFORM they did. To quote one of our Renown Cultural Researchers " Cavaliers captivated the Imagination of the Audience with their playing from as early as the Preliminaries. Therefore it came as no surprise when they had won " .  We all have our favourites and that's OK but no one can honestly deny Cavaliers that Victory .
  • Thank you, Wayne Walcott, but I have to disagree with you on the Guinness thing.

I was not there in person, but according to others who were there , even though Pan Am North Stars may have had a technically superior arrangement, Guinness Cavaliers performance created such an impact on the judges and fans on that Panorama night there is no way they could have been beaten.

As a matter of fact, that night Bobby Mohammed and Guinness Cavaliers changed the sound of Panorama for ever!

  • Thank you Glenroy Joseph , ah doe no yuh but wot you did is worthy of my heartfelt thanks . Meh hairbumps raise up straight , but somting else raise . . meh disgust wid panorama judgin . . North Stars win de 1st three Panoramas  outrite . . but de Judges give den two . . Remember Guiness an dey foolishness . . De judges set ah trend , way bac den , dat music was not wey dey judgin . . dat shit still goin on today . .Dis year de "winners" win because of fireworks , not dey musical performance . . different year . same shit . . Exodus was de bes performin band , musically , but dey didnt have no added glitter . .provin dat Panorama Judgin is not about pan since in de 3rd year of panorama . Remember Phase 11 , an Fire . . goin fuh tree straight . like North Stars . . was plain robbery wid V . .  is it someting bout St.James bands and arrangers ?  is eider dey judge de musical content and performance . . or  scrap de damm Show . . like Maestro say "dey tief , dey tief , we want tuh see de scoresheets" , , after de sweetest band [3rd World ] get leave out  . .

  • Thank you W.S.T. . . This is without a doubt , the best Steel Orchestra ever . Mr.Anthony Williams was the most innovative leader to date . His story is one of extreme Love ,  Devotion and Hurt  , ,all on account of Pan . His simplicity masked his  Greatness , in  the areas of Inventor , Leader and Arranger` . His achievements have not been surpassed , as yet  . Thank you W.S.T.,again and Most Thanks and Love to Mr. Anthony Williams , and to all of the dedicated members , whose committment , love of Pan and their leader made the band what it was , the Best ever.  Thank you Kenneth Clarke , and all of your fellow members , for making St.James and all of T.n T so proud and indebted to you all , for the sacrifices you made and the greatness you achieved . Your contributions will never be forgotten . .
  • What a beautiful rendition of the tune It brings  back a lot of memories.
  • Why is he not honored as Dr. Anthony Williams? Also we the members of the then Panam Jet North Stars Steel Orchestra made history during the 60s both internationally and locally, but were not accredited.
