  This was my second panorama with Harmonites and as I remember we use to learn 10 songs in preparation for recording and all the songs were fully arranged with intro and a jam as it was refered to in those days. Saying this to say that Barney had done some considerable work on this song. I even remember the captain at the time Joseph Renaud bringing Mike Boothman to assist that year before Rupert Mark came into the picture. Those were great days 20 double seconds with some 30 odd players to choose from to make the cut.

  Robert Saldenha, You are correct!

  I had to dig out my old "Disco in Steel" 45 rpm  album to verify that "Gold" and "American Patrol" were done  by "3rd World". not "Third World".

  Not making excuses, but it is an easy error to make.

  It would be as if a band called themselves Phase Two Pan Groove, and made a distinction from Phase II Pan Groove, or Phase 2 Pan Groove.

  Glenroy, be careful how you write the names.   "Third World" was a band from South sponored by Tesoro.   "3rd World" was from St. James and sponsored by The National Lottery Board.    The year that Starlift won the National Championship with "Natasha", they (Third World) won the South Zone.   The two bands were sponsored by Tesoro.

  I have some recordings of "3rd World" on casette and vinyl (LP).   I would love to get 3rd World's rendition of "Jericho" to you.   I will consult with my IT people.

  I would love to hear anything from Third World.

  The only recordings  that I'm aware of are "Gold" and "American patrol", which are posted here.

  If anyone has anything more from this band , i would certainly like to hear it.

  Correction:  3rd World made it to the National quarter finals with "Fiery" (1976) and not the semis.

  Does anyone has a recording of 3rd World's "Jericho" and Maestro's "Fiery"?   I would love two hear those two pieces.   Arranged by Pelham Goddard.   "Jericho" was his 2nd year arranging for 3rd World and Fiery (1976) his fourth.   

  We felt that we were very unlucky with these two tunes.   We made it to the Semis with "Jericho" (we say that the judges did not want 2 Jerichos in the finals).   Fiery was the first year that PantTrinbago introduced a quarter-finals.   We got kick out of the North finals, made it to the National semis, and after that was "see yuh later".

  So, Hameed has also given it live and direct, even more direct than I did.....Barry Mannette, I come looking for you by Starlift yesterday and was told you gone abroad to study.....so as I always used to tell you when you were a teenager coming  by Pan Professionals with your dad and George Yeates and also when you were at UWI... go brave and good luck.  Pax et Amor in pan, my boy!

  One of my favourite pieces from Harmonites, I didnt know that it was an Earl Rodney arrangement, a very good piece of music

  Barney started Jerico, Rupert finish the song, I remember members of the stage side explaing to Rupert how the music should be phrase to match what we had already learn from Earl......
