My favorite Trinidad dance orchestra of the nineteen sixties was the Clarence Curvan orchestra, and their 1962 album "The Greatest Sound Around"was one of the most popular albums ever in Trinidad."Sweet and Lovely" was one of the hits from that album which featured the guitar of Freddie Harris, who Clarence himself described as "born with a gift".Many of us consider Freddie to be the best guitarist to emerge from Trinidad in the sixties, a time when the guitar was the featured instrument of many bands of the day.This arrangement was by Beverly Griffith (piano), and also featured was Ron Berridge on trumpet.Listen, and enjoy!
