Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. -  Multiple compositions by Dr. Winsford “Joker” Devine, Dr. Leroy Calliste, Neil Iwer George, Machel Montano, Austin Lyons and Dennis Franklin Williams have been selected by bands in the Eastern Region for their tunes of choice as preliminaries of the National Panorama Single Pan Band competition continue this weekend.

Four of the competing bands - Cocorite Road Pan Groovers (“This Melody Sweet”), Arima All Stars (“This Melody Sweet”), Pan Elites (“Ah Feeling It”), and Pan Stereonettes (“Say Say), have opted to play Winsford “Joker” Devine’s compositions as sung by Timothy “The Baron” Watkins.

Calypsonians Iwer George, Austin Lyons, Kitchener, Dr. Calliste and Montano have two selections each being performed. Other composers such as Winston Bailey, Pelham Goddard, Rupert Philo, Errol Ballantyne, Machel Montano/McCartha “Calypso Rose” Lewis and the “Ultimate Rejects” make up the bands’ playlist.

Preliminary judging in the Eastern region for 21 bands continues on Sunday 7 and Monday 8 January at the respective panyards from 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. respectively.
