  • Looking at the preset budget for carnival, it would seem that although some people may make considerable money at carnival time, the money spent on carnival by government is not necessarily getting value for money overall.

It's true that carnival is an important opportunity for the creative sector to make money, but if you are spending more than you are making, maybe it's best to just give the people the money instead.

    • Wayne, the government is involved too many things where they just "put up the money" the Airline, Hotel, and those who make alcohol are happy at this time.
It is my opinion that everything should be look at as an investment, free money could be a hindrance to growth.

    • CLAUDE. Thank you very much for providing the INFORMATION and I am sure you will CONTINUE to EDUCATE us with your KNOWLEDGE. GOD BLESS.

  • This seems to be a position held by a recalcitrant minority for years. But, to me, this is a disrespect to the people who have developed the carnival over the years into a positive art form that is adopted and growing across the globe, and is a lucrative  business entity that creates jobs for thousands. It is time for government to see it for what it is, and meet with the stake holders, with an open and unbiased mind to properly regulate and streamline this massive global industry. Every one will never be intellectually inclined. The arts are an integral part of our development as nation, and we will let no one takeaway our space. Stealing from the treasurey,  is a burden on tax payers hard earn dollars. Not investing in our cultural development.

  • It seems that both may be true. How about a survey of 1000 in situ !!
