Fazeer Mohammed: Mr. Forteau can you give us any clarity as to when the next Executive elections of Pan Trinbago will be held?
Forteau: Yes Fazeer, Good morning Trinidad and Tobago…ok what has happened there was as was said a Court matter and the thing went to the Appeal Court, right? Our legal team has asked of us to come ...the Executive of Pan Trinbago to come and have a meeting right? That we will go…we don’t know because a lot of people tell themselves, let’s say like the High Courts of Trinidad and Tobago is the final place for whatever you will have you know that’s not so.
Fazeer:Right.
Forteau: Until we decide to go the Caribbean Court of Justice and what have you, until then….
Fazeer; We don’t have the Caribbean Court of Justice we have the Privy Council.
Forteau: Yeah, that’s what I am saying, we have not met with our Attorneys to hear and to take instructions or to give them instructions as to how we will proceed, alright? So the thing about is that our membership was clear, the membership…and when we say membership, the General membership of the organization was clear, the General Membership pointed the Central Executive in a certain direction and we are following in that direction of the general membership.
Fazeer So as far as you are concerned the legal matter is not finished yet.
Forteau: No, no we are dealing with it, we are continuing a process.
Fazeer: Alright I don’t to divert from the main issue, but very quickly Mr. Diaz how do you respond to the accusation from some in the steelband fraternity, knowing how the process is, for you to stay in office beyond the constitutional term.
Diaz: Well I want to tell you that we have been doing a number of things in the steelband movement for our membership.
Fazeer: No, Whether you doing good or bad you have a term to serve and you passed that.
Diaz:We.. first of all I must say that we were faced with a situation, I called a general meeting for the election of officers and before the general meeting took place, these people took us to court, so it appears to the general public that we took them to court, they took us and stopped the process, so we can’t go ahead with the elections, now we have reached a certain stage, we going to deal with that according to our membership, we have a membership meeting to deal with next month, so when we reach to that..
Fazeer: So there is no truth to this allegation that you are using this legal matter to stay in office
Forteau: No not all all
Fazeer; We could deal with that at another time..

Elections? Right now PANTRINBAGO is dealing with how to tell the world that the INTERNATIONAL PANORAMA may not come off as planned. A watered down version or a postponement is most likely.

As part of the International Conference on Pan (ICP) in August 2015, Trinidad will host the International Panorama Competition. The Panorama will be held over a two-day period, 8-9 August 2015. The competition will bring together participants from the approximately thirty-eight (38) steelband-playing countries from around the world to compete against each other for the title of ICP Champions 2015.
Good sleight of words, huh? Well you could fool some of the people from 38 countries all of the time but you cannot fool all of the people from 38 countries all of the time. How many bands from the rest of the world do you think will be on that stage on August 9th and 10th? Hold a brief and give me an answer.
