  • The product that is Trinidad and Tobago Carnival comprises the social gathering; the street festival; the street theatre; music and rhythm; people. Things do evolve with time but the essential elements and "flavour" could be preserved for centuries or even millenia.  That is what the experts call branding and product/service differentiation.

  • Sadly, the Long Island, NY carnival did not survive.

    • Please note Long Island Carnival was not established they were  only around for a couple of years, and bad behavior killed it.

      • Not bad behavior but bad organization. There was no trash bins nor portable toilets that was a major part of the short lived carnival.

      • I was not there, however I tend to agree with you, I am from the NY area, I understand

  • I don't think many of them have changed much either. But ours is dynamic and continues to grow and change. I have watched these changes since about 1935/36 when I hid form the blue devils behind a big box on Henry St in POS where we lived at the time.Trust me, it is not dying. It's changing.
