The producers of Pan! Our Music Odyssey have been creating recent waves on social media. They have started the first ever publically funded project in Trinidad and Tobago on popular international crowd funding site Indiegogo.
Although nearly complete they are asking fans to join the movement and donate money to their cause in order to finish the film and to get it seen by the world.
For over three years the team behind the film including French Trinidadian producer Jean Michel Gibert ,Trinidadian steelband specialist Dr Kim Johnson , internationally acclaimed young Belgium director Jerome Guiot and Oscar winning French producer Berthelemy Fougea have been working tirelessly to finish and they are almost complete. Their target is to raise crowdfunding to cover some of the costs to be ready for their first screening on the 26th June and ultimately the international premiere at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival on 16 th September this year.
Not only does this film tell the story of pan it promotes and highlights talent in Trinidad and Tobago. Shot entirely in Trinidad & Tobago using local talent and costuming by notable fashion designer Meiling this film aims to not only put Trinidad & Tobago on the map as the epicenter of the steel band culture but as a nation of talent, energy and excitement.
