PANORAMA, THE ROAD, PIECE AH CAKE................

All Stars win was good for all steelbands, it shows what can happen with good organizing. All steelbands should take a page from All Stars book here and make it happen for themselves.

A mist all the negative talk about pan on the road dead came All Stars showing us what the out come would be when people work together, they went up against DJs with their big sound and came out smelling like roses.

This should be inspiration to all steelbands, you can take part in panorama and have another crew  taking care of the presentation for the road, we have proof that it can be done.

Pan Trinbago don't promote steelband on the road because there is no $$$$$$ in it for them. Steelbands must see that they must not leave themselves out of carnival. We have to stress to young people that the steelband is carnival not panorama.

Big congrats to T'dad All Stars on their Band of the year win. Even though I'm a fervent Phase 2 fan...I was there at Panorama and I felt that All Stars should have won the crown. However that is not the subject of discussion....All Stars won band of the year and as the Aussies say "good on them" . Ladies and gentlemen of WST....the tide is turning again...power soca is losing its power...all the songs on the road are groovy soca now....Pan will come back on the road again and All Stars is leading the charge with this win. We are on the road to recovery...now all we need is for the other major steelbands to follow suit and organize themselves to have songs to play on the road for the crowds who want to play with steelbands to hear like and join. ONWARD TO VICTORY!!!!

Char, How do we get a band like Phase 2 to bring out a band on the road? they have a large fan base I'm sure that they won't have a problem getting people to play.

The comments posted here are simply amazing. Sure the judges decisions are always final, but THAT doesn't mean the judges got it right. Doesn't mean the judges know what the hell they are doing.

sometimes in life things happen that goes against the grain, no matter how we look at it this the way it is and we have to accept it. All those young seniors chipping over the stage represents an intervention.

Congratulations to Trinidad All Stars Steel Orchestra! You deserve your title Band of the Year and you won it with dignity.The masqueraders enjoyed themselves and you truly represented what is 'playing mas'. Your costume had meaning as it told a story; no one had to guess as to what you were portraying. There are many,who still believe that a steel band cannot be judged Band of the Year but  In Trinidad and Tobago, the steel band is synonymous with Carnival. There can be no true Carnival in T&T without 'de pan'. As it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end! I agree with you, Mr. Hinkson, All other steelbands must indeed "take a page from All Stars book".

I hope that the NCBA and the relevant authorities stick to their guns and do not revoke the Band of the Year title from All Stars...suffice it to say that their presentation was a refreshing change from the beads and bikini mas that is the norm now.

S&S  I see 2014 as the judges rebellion. It was also the year that the BABY BOOMERS made a statement.
