Hello Chief Bowei
Like I said to you before - "your best friend could be your worst enemy and your worst enemy could be your best friend". Now you know who is who and what is what.
The great thing about this WST forum is that you can go back and see who said what when and what were their positions. Seems like you had a very expensive lesson.
Questions for you Chief Bowei
Are there other Nigerian companies involved in pan?
Are these companies in competition with you?
Why did Pan Trinbago back door you and do business with the Military?
Did you ever figure out the purpose of FCL? And why did you agree to join up with a company (FCL) you knew nothing about?
Has anyone from Pan Trinbago taken responsibility or publicly apologize for the failure of this venture?
Chief Bowie S. Bowei
Referencing : An exclusive interview for When Steel Talks, Mary Ehikhamenor, PA to the CEO of the Africa-Trinidad & Tobago Steelpan Development Company, Ltd. (ATTSDC) - gives insight into the situation which has led to the dissolution of the original business partnership between Pan Trinbago and Xcel Steelpan Co. Ltd., which gave rise to the ATTSDC.
WST - Was the beginning of anything, any ATTSDC project(s) implemented? Is any initiative currently underway?
ATTSDC - “Nothing initiated by ATTSDC was carried out. All the ideas came from Xcel Steelpan Co., Ltd., but were inherited by ATTSDC. Absolutely nothing went on or was implemented, and when support for the kick-off of our tertiary education project [in Nigeria] was sought from Pan Trinbago, again, it was denied; and this led to the failure of that project again. The actual fact is there was no company existing. Pan Trinbago only talks about it when they need to do some form of political campaigning, and when they go back, they tie up the file and lock it up again.”
I wish at this point to state that you are vacillating in the political waters of the National Election of the Presidency of the World Governing Body for Steelpan, Pan Trinbago. The statement that is referenced and highlighted above is in stark contrast to this message that you are now communicating which I might add is now on the Pan Trinbago website, and as well which is attempting to seriously misrepresent the TRUTH about what is the real deal.
Chief, I am advising you that more than 10,000 individuals on-line are viewing your comments and I would suggest as we say in local Trinidad parlance....."to hold your corner.....lest you become a political pawn that you speak of, in your original statement, in this game of cat and mouse with the truth, with Pan Trinbago. Speak your truth Chief Bowei....and it shall set you free........stay clear of the politics.....as we are all watching from the ground in the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago.
Respectfully yours in Pan,
Lindsay
ARE YOU READY FOR THE TRUTH
Firstly, I want to thank Ms. Mary Ehikhamenor for her candid interview on WST re: the closure of ATTSDC. And to all the WST members, who are waiting for a response from Pan Trinbago on this debacle, please don’t hold your breath, as there is a feeling among the Executive of PTB, that opinions expressed on WST, are not important, and secondly most of them are not computer literate, and will not see it, and that the computers you see on their desks are really ornaments designed to make them feel a part of this 20th century invention.
If you look at Ms. Ehikhamenor’s statement, it is plain to see that Pan Trinbago never put the thought that was needed to make a success of this business venture. Added to that, the technical, financial and business acumen was also never achieved. Word from informed sources, Pan Trinbago is broke; why else do they borrow every month from Pan Vesco to pay salaries?
Further, any student of business will know that a proper functioning Secretariat is what determines the success or failure of a business. (Just like in Pan, a good rhythm section).
Mr. Richard Forteau is the person solely responsible for the failure of this business venture on Pan Trinbago’s side. He has been failing President after President from time immemorial, Roy Augustus, Arnim Smith, Owen Serrette, Patrick Arnold and now Keith Diaz he has failed them all.
His incompetence, mis-management and ineptitude is the reason for the failure of Pan Trinbago. A simple conversation with any staff member of Pan Trinbago will tell how frustrated the members of staff are with his time keeping, ensuring favourites, and lack of organizational management skills. Several times they have had to cover for him when Government Ministers and other important people have called for him – he has not arrived at work as yet. Ask any person in pan in Trinidad & Tobago, and they will tell you, he’s not at work before 11.00 am, and, he is the Office Manager to boot. This has been going on for years.
Unfortunately for Mr. Diaz and Company, the young people, who are the future of pan, are the ones that make up a significant number of the WST family, and they are in tune as to all that’s happening in the organization, they are the ones who will leadd charge for change.
To the seniors of the movement, now is not the time to sit on the fence, now is the time to answer that clarion call for change, and don’t fall for Mr. Diaz, rhetoric, that a woman is unable to handle the job of President of Pan Trinbago. The present regime has not only brought shame to Pan Trinbago, but to all of Trinidad and Tobago, more so since we’re celebrating 50 years of independence. We must show National pride, in all that we do.
Time to bring good governance to Pan Trinbago, only this will bring about the success that you desire for the organization.
In closing I will like to leave with this quote. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to remain silent and do nothing - Edmund Burke 1729-1797.
Greetings We must give credit to Pantum for doing the research and for exposing the intricacies of this questionable relationship. It was his foresight and determination to warn all about this deal. I know I am proud of his work and I hope we will all be able to say "Thank you Pantum for a job well done." Guidance Dr. Lance Seunarine (www.tricanbooks.com).
Dr. Lance: I summarized that demise in two sentences unlike the 2000 sentences it took to Ghost to read and regurgitate.
