Hell's Gate Steel Orchestra goes on to win the 1949 panorama with their arrangement of the famous "Peanut Vendor". Peanut Vendor is one of the most popular music pieces ever.

The Peanut Vendor has been recorded more than 160 times.[13] Because of its cultural importance, in 2005 The Peanut Vendor was included into the United States National Recording Registry by the National Recording Preservation Board, which noted:
- "It is the first American recording of an authentic Latin dance style.[14] This recording launched a decade of 'rumbamania', introducing U.S. listeners to Cuban percussion instruments and Cuban rhythms."

@ Kelvin, no "Panorama" was not used in 1949. It was used in Trinidad in the 1960's.
