I cannot understand how TRINIDAD and TOBAGO has allowed its unique national instrument - PAN- to be desecrated and insulted by a foreign alcohol producer whose manufacturers have absolutely no promotional interest in the instrument, with the compliance of the product's advertisers in T&T while the pan fraternity, the government ministry concerned with culture/multiculturalism and the ministry concerned with tourism all turn a blind eye to this monstrosity!
Should we not discuss this? What is implied here? Are we seeing our national instrument compromised? Why are marketing needs of an alcoholic beverage product, particularly foreign, be put on the back of PAN? Who benefits? Pan community or organization? How do we feel about it?
I ask these questions to stimulate discussion on this matter.
This is ABSOLUT PAN post December 2012. The ABSOLUT bottle shapes embedded on the "pan" have been painted over and are not easily visible. Note however the very visible design on the words ABSOLUT PAN.
