    • Back row: Second left ( dark glasses) the late Sylvester " Scorpion" Garcia.
  • I remember Dave La Barrie.  He led Nutrine Playboys to win the bomb competition with "A few Dollars More" wish I could find that music somewhere.  Not sure if he was the first to use the amplified tenor pan,  but I know Playboys had them in 1968.  He went from there to Solo Harmonites and I do not know what happened after that.

  • A picture is truly worth a thousand words. Is anyone of the fraternity out there, able to put Names to the faces?
  • IS THERE A CAPTION WITH THE NAMES OF THESE PIONEERS SOMEWHERE- THE ONLY FACE I RECOGNISE IS BOBBY MOHAMMED
  • Great picture.!!!

Check out Burch's 'fro! (Second row, right)

Now, that's the Burch I remember. Most people only know him as a great pan tuner, but he was also outstanding pannist and a decent arranger.

I must also mention my friend , the late Michael Alleyne. standing next to Bobby Mohamed (second row, right).
He was our captain and arranger at the now defunct Scarlet Symphony Steel Orchestra of Marabella.

    R.I.P Michael.
