Mighty Sparrow - *Federation* - This is Sparrow - BALISIER HDF1008 Sparrow composed this title to celebrate the inauguration of the Federal States of the West Indian Islands in 1958. As this political structure failed and broke up in 1962, Sparrow composed a new calypso he also titled *Federation* this won Sparrow "Calypso King 1962" (as opposed to "Federation King 1962"). The 1958 version subsequently became known as *We all is one* for that reason. I still happen to think that the Federation was a good idea and deserved a shot.

Who knows what we could have accomplished?

I would like the people who don't know about Calypso history who are saying that Sparrow have never compose a Calypso to do some checking and see for themself that he did and some of his tunes were done by some composers but some just like to bump their GUM because they do not like him ask them how much tunes that David Rudder compose because they are saying that Rudder is better than him but SPARROW we love you dearly you are the GREATEST GOD BLESS YOU.

I merely wish to indicate that the Boca, Grenada group's 1957 tune (accompanied by string brake) is listed as: Federal Capital on the COOK 101 label, (side A, track 4) See Grenada Stories & Songs at:
