Trinidad & Tobago, W.I.
Attorney General Anand Ramlogan has described allegations surrounding the ownership of the patents and intellectual property rights of the G-Pan and PHI as a national scandal amounting to fraud.
A probe by the Office of the Attorney General has revealed that the G-Pan and the Percussive Harmonic Instrument, which is commonly called the PHI Pan, are not owned by the Government.
At a news conference, AG Ramlogan said a pre-action protocol letter has been sent to Steel Pan Initiatives Chairman, Professor Brian Copeland, alleging that the holder of the nation's highest honour registered the PHI Pan in his name back a few years ago, and has been marketing the G-Pan internationally and possibly profiting from its sales.
