Condolences to the Gittens Family.

Robert Gittens died on Thursday 13th June, 2013. Robert was a Casablanca from young. he and his brothers Valmond and Michael. Although in his youthful days he left the hill and went and took a knock with BWIA Sunjets, (which was unheard of in those days), It was back up the hill to try and assist Casablanca in whatever way possible. He also played football in the MERVINA's league.

May God bless his soul.

  • Robert and I grew up on the same street were also members of casablanca playing mas for years as the youths in the band. His greatest disappointment was to see the demise of the band. Last carnival on my visit home I was able to visit him and spend some precious time with him. We always talk about the band and the good old days.My taughts and love goes out to him and his family. May he rest in peace. Your  Brother Pinny.

  • Mike and Valmond, another culture warrior has left us.   My sympathy from our family to yours.

    Stay up.

  • Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Robert Gittens. He and his brother Valmond were my best

childhood friends. We did everything together... marbles, running jockey, kiting, playing mass, Casablanca.

I last saw him in March when he seemed to be picking up after responding to treatment.

    Condolences to all his family.

  • My Uncle Robert was a good man who loved his family and did all to help them be successful. My playing pan (though later in life) gave us another connection I will always cherish (I loved talking "pan politics" and analyzing performance every year). Love goes from NY back home to my Aunt and cousins. May he rest peacefully in the arms of the Saviour.
  • Condolence to the family, friends and the BWIA Sun Jet family
