PAN AM NORTH STARS BOOK

 I just learned that a fellow by the name of CYRIL MATTHEWS, not sure of his first name just recently published a book about North Stars. He is said to be from upper Bournes Road in St.James, P O S. He claims he played with North Stars and knows Tony well.I want to know if JJJ knows this fellow and why he allowed him to write his book before him. I been telling JJJ for years write the history, he kept hemming and hoaring, dilly dallying, now look wha happen. I hatta buy this man book. JJJ lemme hear your thoughts on this one.

JJJ claims to not know the guy. JJJ did not read the book. JJJ says that the guy knows nothing about Pan Am North Stars. JJJ says that the guy does not know "how the band derived/came about". Maybe Mr. Fyfe (as a writer) can get together with JJJ and tell us ALL about P.A.N.S.
After all, the "business of the steel pan" is an island surrounded by loads of sh*t.

I am happy to hear that others are writing about "pan" because when one has to do validated research there must be a balance between written history and oral history tradition. So I commend and recommend that all books on pan be posted on WST for the furtherance of steelpan knowledge. I am also looking forward to JJJ's soon to be published book because it will substantiate facts based on his postings here in WST.

Thanks ,JJJ, school buddy. I thought the situation was just as u said. But I still have to buy his book. Nevertheless hurry up and publish yours. Then I can compare first hand to hearsay.

I DO NOT KNOW THE GUY SCHOOL BUDDY,, nor have I ever met him, he left a number with "Harold Lynch", the first person/man to play the double second Tony Williams made in 1949, and I did spoke to him, and he said he is writng a book, he also claimed/told me that he was the sectary for the band in 1972 after "Neville (zambi) Gaskin" left for America, I was also in Boston USA by1972 in the Boston University, therefor I never know or met the man, I also know that he do not much about Pan Am North Stars and or how the band derived/came about, so everything that he may imply is just here say, so FYFE school buddy, I have nothing to worry about, when the "ORACLE" is published in CANADA, it's gonna be a BEST SELLER, plus it will have TEXT, via scamatics...
