  one arranger, one band...there are enough talented individuals both male and female in the country and even those living outside to do this. Mr.Sharp learned under some of the best and he was given a chance to showcase his talents. The same must be done for the young ones that are around. Pan trinbago as an organization leaves much to be desired. There appeares to be no forward movement over the years to this competition. Pan Trinbago should be answerable to all people of pan. From where I sit, it appeares that they are a law unto themselves.
  A couple years ago I emailed a request to pan trinbago for a schedule of upcoming pan events that year. Reason? I wanted to schedule my time off around these events at home. It took me months to get a reply, and to this date Pan Trinbago fails to list a calender of year round events at the begining of the year. Pan lovers around the world would take avantage of this, meaning a boost to the ecconomy and more exposure for PAN around the world. Pantrinbago needs real leadership at the top. Educated people who have a real love of this art form and are more intersted in moving it forward instead of lining their pockets. People who have the know how to stand up to the goverment and the guts to hold out so that this art form could take there rightfull place in the music world.
  At the panorama competitions in New York this year many talented and young individuals were responisble for some interesting arrangements. Some are not from Trinidad, parents are not from Trinidad or even the islands. PAN is alive and well and hopefully at some point Pan Trinbago will realize that the train has left the station and will be running on the platform trying to catch up.

  After seeing the interview, I think arrangers like Mr. boogsie is holding back Pan. He wants to arrange for all the bands. So there is no place for young and up coming arranger. These old arrangers have to give the young people a chance. Thats one of the reasons why the young people don't want to hear Pan after carnival. If the young people get involve then we can appreciate pan all year round. Also some of us trinidadians are to blame. They don't want hear pan, their national instrument, that we invented, we want to hear reggae and country music. Mr. boogsie's body language seems like he has a personal situation with Mr. Arnold. Grow up Boogsie, Pan has come a long way and we all have do our part. We can't sit back and blame, blame. We Trinidadians blame too much. Pan music is in schools, churches, camps, after school programs, weddings, you name it. While we are complaining, other people in the world are taking it over. So lets embrace our national instrument, stop complaing and start teaching more and more young to appreciate pan, by doing what skiffle Bunch did this summer. Have a Pan Camp. My hat is off to them. We have to do our part, instead of the DJ, we can have the DJ and Pan at all functions. There are many ways to keep Pan moving, we have to do it. We can't wait and blame Patrick Arnold. He is not a one man committee. PAN IS NOT DEAD. ITS ALIVE AND WEll.

  i see that i am been targeted for talking the truth . i expected this , any way, so young arranger like me who are getting a chance to do music for bands and trying to make a living , only because of the rule to limit the arrangers to 1 in each category (4)( that is allot of money) that is not a good thing for future the pan community.

  this has nothing to do with that.
  
  DID you (MR.ronin) know that there was an emergency meeting earlier this year by pantrinbago with the band leaders about what they would like to see what it is they would like to see implemented in the 2010 budget before it was released to the government for money, i myself find that PANTRINBAGO not doing enough,BUT at least when they gave us the lay out of what they had planed for the next year is FAR better that what is going on now,they went on to tell us about the increase they had in mind they had for 21 century ,festival and especially carnival on the road, i have to say the proposal was good.
  
  The reason why i am writing about this meeting is to show you that if you had known any thing about this issue you would have known that in that meeting pantrinbago said that they know they are not functioning good there are allot of areas to fix and there are allot of changes to make because they are going to hire people with business qualifications to do the specific jobs just as the constitution stats this was long before all of this came along.
  my point is don't be fooled by greedy people....
  
  why is it that no one can see that is the government that don't give a SHIT about pan, we know pantrinbago in a mess right now but if PNM say no to the proposal we back to square 1 this is soposed to be the... NATIONAL INSTRUMENT do they push it HELL NO..
  
  People forget that what amount of money the government give to pantrinbago that is what they have to work with...

  AS A LONG TIME MEMBER OF PHASE 2 PAN GROOVE THIS IS NOTHING NEW TO ME.I LIVE ABROAD IN THE UNITED STATES AND THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE GOVERNMENT STAINED THIS CREATION THAT WAS GIVEN TO US BY GOD ALMIGHTY.THEY STAINED IT WITH PANORAMA AND PAN TRINBAGO.PANORAMA AND PAN TRINBAGO IS THE DEATH BY CULTURAL AND SOCIAL EXECUTION OF PAN AS WE KNOW IT.IN ORDER TO SAVE THIS BEAUTIFULL CREATION PANMEN ALL OVER THE WORLD MUST UNITE AND FORM THEIR OWN MOVEMENT AND SENTENCE PANORAMA AND PAN TRINBAGO TO DEATH DEATH DEATH.........
