Would you believe that 4 men who played on Desperadoes' Pizzicato Polka recording are still with the band today. Wilby, Tash and P'Jue only play for carnival, but Rupert, who is the brother of P'Jue, still play congas on the stageside. As a matter of fact Rupert is the only one in the world that played at all 49 panorama preliminaries and 45 of the 48 finals. He should be honoured by Pan Trinbago
Thanks for sharing. I must now release my treasures. The first one will be Desperadoes' 1967 winning performance at The Champs Of Champs Steel Orchestra Music Festival. Their reditions were,
"Palestra" and "The Merry Wives Of Windsor." I remember one of the ajudicators commentary. "If I were a millionaire, I would take this winning Steel Orchestra all over the world. The arrangements were done by the late Mr. Raymond "Artie" Shaw.
I enjoyed every track of this LP. I could not copy the front of it....
but I am sure Glenroy will forward to me. Thanks for helping me relive Pan history.
All I have to say is some one else is sharing his stash !
THANK YOU, STEVE!!
