I once posed this question to Pan Trinbago and received a professional reply. Also, do you think the medium and large bands should be slated for the same night?

I like the idea of Medium and Large the same night, medium, large, medium, large, etc in that order so the patrons will be at the show early and they will stay to the end.
Greetings to all, DO YOU ALL REMEMBER WHEN THE SEMI FINAL WERE HELD ON THE THURSDAY NIGHT AND THE FINALS ON THE SUNDAY NIGHT ( DIMANCHE NIGHT ) ? AND BANDS WERE ABLE TO DO A COMPLETE OVERHAUL OF THEIR TUNE?
Like everyone else besides Pan Trinbago recognizes this, the week after semis, most panyards are
almost empty.I remember a few years ago asking Keith Diaz why they don't switch semis with school panorama and his answer was that Tobago bands needed more time to bring their instruments. Now if it is kept a week before wouldn't they remain here for finals, but that is just the level and thinking of the people that is in control.
Val that was my subjective sentiments exactly to Pan Trinbago (lol)
Lovers from North America and elsewhere will have an opportunity to be present for both occasions, it will also bring more revenue to Pantrinbago which will make Keith Diaz very happy. But seriously one week before the Finals is ideal for everyone.
I think that from the Semis to the Finals should be a week. Reason when Panorama Semis are held Most of the Pan
13 days are just about right. First off the some players get a well earned rest, while others get to perform in other catergories. While all this is happening the arrangers and captains are trying to conform to the judges comments. Also some bands have to come up to full strength with players from bands who did not make it to the final. Just as important, adding an introduction and cleaning up the ending. It is just too much to have Medium and large bands on the same night. As much as we love Pan after a while one can suffer "acoustic tiredness". More importantly the show never gets to start on time. Its no fun listening to a performance at 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning especially if we are part of the audience.

Hi Ian,
I believe that the 13 days between semis and finals are justifiable as it gives a more level playing fields for bands to elevate their presentations for the finals.
@ Garvin Smith,.... the different categories are also justifiable in my opinion because it gives more room for bands to express themselves with the amount of players they could muster as well as the different levels of abilities and presentations.

Once upon a time we use to have a Panorama winner, those were the glory days - now we have 4 Panorama winners single pan band, small band, medium band, large band - water down panorama winner.....who are the real panorama champ?
