  • Once a panyard is the same place for over 20 years the government should make it a historical site, this will protect them against land developers.

  • Guys!!!  Phase 2 is in the midst of the community and that's where it should stay.  Look what happened to Starlift once they moved.....they lost their community and lost motivation and status.  Don't you realize that to move a steelband out of it's community where for better or worse it has been nutured by the closeness and centrality of it's position, is to kill it???  Starlift is totally cut off from everything and it shows.  Next time you're in T'dad go down to Starlift and feel the atmosphere...NOTHING!!!   Then go to Invaders, Silver Stars, Phase 2, All Stars, Renegades and feel the difference...it is vibrant and alive, surrounded as they are by their communities.  Phase 2 should NOT move unless it's to Arapita Avenue...LOL!!

  • What about the fact that's it's because the big money people want to build condos on the land, they don't care about culture or the National Instrument. Phase II come like David going up against Goliath.

  • If the idea is to uplift steelband, then it defeats the purpose if you erect it next to an area where they clean refuge truck.

Maybe it might be appealing if they should remove the refuge trucks.

  • Looks like it will become a relic eventually if there isn't a complete turnaround in feeling. It is close to Starlift..behind the National Stadium...pretty much close to the foreshore highway so traffic noise could be a hindrance. Access to the place is on the same road as to Starlift or if you wish you can walk down the little track from the foreshore and you are there. In NY there is so much stress and distress associated with having a space of one's own that this Phase 11 offer would be pretty much welcomed there. But the simple fact is that Phase11 feels that to move is the equivalent of a disembowelment. And you know that if your guts are cut open the end result could be harmful to the issue of survival. What do you think pan people?
  • Another fauxpas. Phase II's full panside cannot fit in that shed. A similar mistake was made 'up the hill'; Despers' pans can't fit there either......
